The plant Ajo Sacha or native garlic, is known among varying indigenous groups across the Amazon as a medicinal and magical plant that is prevalent in it’s use to change the course of bad luck, repairing soul loss, and assisting/protecting against witchcraft. This plant from an Ayurvedic perspective would suit people who have a cold and Air imbalance (Vata) though may be far too heating for Pitta in these type of doses, this maybe counteracted using panchakarma techniques.
The physical attributes and illnesses that the plant is also known to work on are Arthritis, Parasites (within the stomach/body) Candida and as a blood cleanser for fungal issues.
The plant can be administered in varied manors according to the health issue. Traditional Plant bathes implemented alongside ‘dieta’ is one of the primary preparations used to cleanse the physical and energetic body of illness and soul loss.
Some traditional healers choose to mix parts of the plant into Ayahuasca brews according to the energy they would like to create in the brew for their patients. In 2013 I ventured back into the jungle on two separate occasions to Dieta with this plant, below is a very brief summation of my personal experience.
Duration of Diet
2 weeks- Leaves-April 2013
3 weeks- Roots-October 2013
Some subtle physical symptoms
After drinking the Ajo Sacha a feeling of being very calm, sedated, feeling very relaxed preceded the course of the ‘dieta’.
Females who drank reported a continuous white vaginal discharge throughout dieta, I put this down to the possible expelling excess heat from within the body channels (Pitta) or Candida which occurs from too much wheat consumption (a common occurrence in the west)
The dreams experienced were very vivid and lucid, more so when sleep was close to time of the drinking of the plant in the early morning hours. At times I found I was felt very lucid and could not distinguish between waking reality of the jungle and the dream in which I was experiencing within the jungle.
I found drinking this plant very pleasant it was like a garlic soup each morning that drifted down into my Stomach and created a warm tingling sensation throughout my body. I did not notice any uneasy feelings or symptoms from drinking the plant. During Ceremony I witnessed white angelic looking beings walking around the Maloka space working on people and since reading some traditional explanations this is one of the typical ways the spirit of this plant can be seen.
The plant is very beneficial for those that are beginning to be introduced to Amazonian plant spirit medicine and those also who seem to have affiliation with high frequency energy work. The Ajo Sacha seems to distribute energy throughout the physical body in order for it to withstand and not become overwhelmed with the workload of higher energetic frequency.
If you feel drawn to start this type of practice, Ajo Sacha is a great preliminary plant to start on before moving on to stronger plants/trees.
We are offering this plant on the next retreat in Peru if you would like to attend please contact us through here
